Peggy’s Cove Festival of the Arts
Peggy’s Cove Area Festival of the Arts. The Opening Night, hosted at Shining Waters Marina, will feature live musical entertainment, refreshments, a silent auction of art and craft works, and a “Community Canvas” created by attendees.
Two events will highlight the Festival. The first is a Studio Tour, held between early July, including over 60 studio artists, galleries and art groups welcoming visitors through their doors. This is a unique opportunity to meet and interact with painters, potters, sculptors, wood and glass workers and jewelry artists at work in their studios. On the second weekend of the Festival, a three day plein air painting event with 35 artists participating, will be held between Mid July in the village of Peggy’s Cove. Artworks produced will be offered for sale in the Yurt located in the centre of the village. A Children’s Art Tent will offer free creative activities next to the Yurt. Entertainment will also include demonstrations by local artisans in jewelry, pottery, woodworking and sculpture.
