They say that truth is stranger than fiction, but sometimes it makes a better story as well. The annual DOXA Documentary Film Festival brings some of the world’s best documentary films to Vancouver each May. Presenting on five screens in downtown Vancouver, this 10-day festival screens Canadian and international documentaries, and along with public screenings, workshops, panel discussions and public forums are offered. Many of the films fit into one of the festival’s focus themes for the year, which can range from contemporary Chinese, or archival French documentaries, through to DOXA’s acclaimed Justice Forum series, which brings to light social justices issues.
